OPPOSE CBD Zoning – Still Back and Forth!​ City Commission Meeting: Thursday, July 27

After months of "back and forth" discussion,  we seem to be back where we started.   This has become so frustrating that responsiveness of City staff was the subject of discussion in a recent Miami Today article - July 06, 2017.

Downtown Stakeholders should be concerned that the proposed changes will:

• Abolish the district currently defined as the “Central Commercial District” (generally CBD), requiring us as stakeholders to go through a process to define and approve a new district in order to preserve regulations that meet our unique needs for realizing a revitalized Flagler Street and CBD.
• Introduce this additional obstacle at a time when the entire CBD is challenged by the failed Flagler Street Beautification and Reconstruction Project.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, July 27th.  We still want to support zoning changes that preserve existing regulations in the CBD, but we may just need to storm City Hall and declare that "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"
